BCCF Summer Conducting Course Scholarships
The Sea to Sky Singers is offering tuition scholarships for up to two members to attend the BC Choral Federation's Summer Conducting Course [see below for details]. Attendees would be responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and meals.
Applicants must:
be able to read music.
have basic piano skills.
be committed to attending all three days of the workshop.
be interested in serving as an Assistant Director for Sea to Sky Singers [be mentored by Music Director, Veronica McPhee; take on leadership roles; lead some vocal warm ups and/or sectionals; and direct one piece of repertoire per term]. The Assistant Director role is a separate application process which requires conducting training in this course, similar training and/or experience.
Preference will be given to choir members who have been with STSS for more than two consecutive terms.

BC Choral Federation “Choral da Capo” Summer Conducting Course
Designed for conductors of school, church and community choirs, the BCCF “Choral da Capo” (Choral Directorship Course) gives you an opportunity to study one-on-one with master teachers and also learn about rehearsal planning, vocal technique, diction and repertoire selection.
Students will work within small peer groups every day to develop and refine conducting skills, then with the larger lab choir made up of experienced choral musicians. The atmosphere is always encouraging and low stress.
Venue: St Mary’s Kerrisdale Church (2490 W 37th Ave, Vancouver)
